Our Exhibitions
Some exhibitions are changed frequently, reflecting on special national occasions. Some exhibitions are semi-permanent. The Camp Room reflecting the occupation by the American army Hospital during WWII where the injured were brought from France on the trains for treatment.
The Railway display is a working model of how Kington used to be, before it was deemed unviable. Another display which is semi permanent is the Kington elephant, which was part of a travelling circus in 1932, unfortunately died and buried in a field, later discovered again when houses were being built in 1988.
“I was so suprised at the amount of local history this museum has. It’s larger than it looks. Very friendly staff. Worth a visit if you’re in town.”
